“Each time women stands up for herself, without knowing it possibly, without claiming it, she stands up for all women” – Maya Angelou
It is #AwesomeFriday!
SAFADECO joins the Celebration of the 2022 National Women’s Month with the theme: “We Make Change Work for Women” by conducting a seminar to all members with the topic “Violence against Women and their Children (VAWC) or RA9262. Students from the The Lewis College also attended the said seminar.
The activity was conducted via zoom and was simultaneously live on Facebook to comply with the IAF which mandates the refraining of big gatherings and celebration during this time of pandemic and in order to reach more audience. This aims to promote awareness of the different forms of violence, their rights to defend themselves and to provide information on laws protecting women and children from violence. GAD Chairman Elsa Desquitado started the program by delivering her opening remarks. CEO Atty. Jessica Samantha D. Acleta also graced the event who pleasantly welcomes everyone and introduced the Guest Speaker.
SAFADECO also would like to extend our heartfelt appreciation and gratitude to Atty. Maricris Balbedina for the very informative and worthwhile discussion. It will surely inspire all women to promote gender equality, women empowerment and to have a strong stand for themselves.
Indeed, a comprehensive and integrated approach to addressing violence against women and their children will accelerate progress in making the world a better and safer place for both women and children. Again, SAFADECO wholeheartedly greets everyone, a HAPPY WOMEN’S MONTH!
